ABSENCE PRESENCE
Site-specific installation — Silosi Dorćol, Belgrade
Silosi Dorćol, Belgrade
2025.
Mixed media installation
Absence Presence (Silos Installation) was developed as an immersive spatial environment exploring material gravity, vertical tension and human scale.
The installation combines mineral mass structures, suspended elements and controlled spatial movement to create a physical encounter with time and presence.
The work was developed as a site-specific installation responding to industrial architecture and historical material context.
MATERIALS
Concrete and mineral-based compounds
Textile tension elements
Structural suspension systems
Sand and particulate matter
Industrial rope systems
Light and shadow control
Sound
⸻
INSTALLATION APPROACH
The installation worked with the existing silo structure as an active spatial body.
Material interventions created zones of density, interruption and suspended tension within the architecture.
⸻
EXPERIENCE
The viewer walked inside a vertical field of mass, void and suspended matter.
Perception shifted through height, shadow, distance and proximity to material.
